"I am incredibly grateful to have been selected as a recipient of the Moshope Oyeyemi Memorial Scholarship. Learning about Moshope's story, his curiosity, warmth, and dedication to bringing joy to those around him, made this award especially meaningful to receive. As an Information Systems major committed to service, I've spent much of my time at UMBC supporting underserved communities, from mentoring an out-of-school Afghan refugee youth through the International Rescue Committee to volunteering with community members in need at Paul's Place. This scholarship eases my path forward, and I'm honored to carry a piece of Moshope's legacy of purpose and generosity through my own work. Thank you, Kunle and Lola Oyeyemi, for creating this fund in his memory and for investing in students like me."
